I had been keenly interested in the protection of the environment since before I joined RENOVA.
I have developed specialized skills in numerical analysis. In my previous job, I put my knowledge to work as a member of an offshore wind power generation project. However, I had a strong desire to make better use of those skills. I was excited when a person from RENOVA told me that my specialized skills are what they need now. I thought that I could make more direct use of my specialized skills than in my previous job. This expectation was a great catalyst for making a career move.
In addition, the executives from RENOVA who interviewed me projected a very refreshing atmosphere! When I told them I am a very curious person, their answer was an encouraging, “At RENOVA, you can fully satisfy your curiosity.” Their positive atmosphere and momentum were comfortable to me. I therefore thought, “I want to join RENOVA right now!”

Since I joined RENOVA, I have been involved in the Project for Offshore Wind Power Generation. I have been making full use of my expertise in this project. Besides, at RENOVA, I share my knowledge with other team members to advance projects, rather than using it only in my own job. This is interesting in a different way from anything I experienced before. I am sometimes asked to apply my knowledge to solve something that I am not in charge of. In those cases, I do my best to help my coworkers and advance the project.

Many people at RENOVA have a high level of expertise. However, they are not the kind of experts who engage only in the jobs inside their specialized fields. We solve unprecedented issues by bringing along our unique knowledge bases and complementing each other. We move toward our goals together in this way. This is our mission as engineers.
All team members are positive and refreshing, just like the executives who interviewed me, and I know why. The management team shows a strong vision. And each team member is fully informed of that vision.
Many of the team members are honest, have great personalities, are open-minded, and have excellent communication skills. More than anything, they have a desire to protect the natural environment. I have worked for multiple other companies and have also founded a company. I think a company with an atmosphere like RENOVA’s is rare.

Right now, I am working on a difficult optimization problem. It is a task of programming to calculate the best arrangement of offshore wind turbines, taking into account the ground and wind conditions. This is a new area for me. I learn things in this new field every day. I am enthusiastically determined to complete this task, to ensure the feasibility of Japan’s first commercial offshore wind power project. I would like to continue my own personal development, together with RENOVA.
