Our employees gave a lecture at Karuizawa Kazakoshi Gakuen
Our employees gave lectures to about 50 7th and 8th graders (1st and 2nd graders in junior high school) at Karuizawa Kazakoshi Gakuen, a 12-year mixed elementary and junior high school that is not bound by conventional curricula, simultaneous classes, or grade and class systems.
The objective of the lecture was to “enhance students’ ability to think about energy and environmental issues from multiple angles and perspectives without stopping to think,” and we introduced geothermal power generation and global warming as part of a curriculum in which the students spent about six weeks exploring and eventually creating their own power generation equipment.
Students later commented, “We must take action to stop global warming,” “I felt the potential of geothermal power generation,” and “I hope that a future in which 100% of the world’s electricity is provided by renewable energy sources will come true. I hope that a future in which 100% of the world’s electricity is generated from renewable energy sources will come to pass.
