Shinto ceremony held at Kanda Biomass Power Plant
A hiire-shiki (igniting ceremony) was held on January 18th, 2021.
This ceremony is a Shinto ritual held to pray for the safety of the power plant before initiating the combustion in the boiler (the apparatus that heats water by burning fuel to generate high-temperature, high-pressure steam).
On the day of the event, the number of attendees was limited in consideration of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
The test run is finally in full swing and is on track for the commencement of commercial operation in June 2021.
