“Furusato Children’s College” was held.
“Furusato Children’s College” organized by Ishinomaki City Board of Education was held at Ishinomaki Hibarino Biomass Power Plant.
The “Furusato Children’s College” is an event to learn about the nature, culture, and history of Ishinomaki through various hands-on activities. 15 fifth- and sixth-grade students from Ishinomaki City visited the power plant.
In addition to the tour of the power plant, the children deepened their understanding of biomass power generation through explanations of the power generation mechanism using simple experimental equipment and hands-on experience with wood pellets and palm kernel shells (PKS), which are used as fuel.
