Students from Public Policy and Energy class at the Graduate School of Public Policy of the University of Tokyo visited Futtsu Solar

On January 23, 2025, students from the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy visited the Futtsu Solar Facility as part of a fieldwork program on global decarbonization issues and public policy.
The 16 participants, who came from various backgrounds including Europe, the Middle East Asia, Southeast Asia, and China toured the site facilities such as solar panels, the power control building, power conditioners, and the desilting basin. After the visit, students made comments like, “We were surprised to see a dome-shaped power control building designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes as part of disaster prevention measures. It was fascinating to learn about Japan’s high sensitivity to disaster prevention,” and “We were impressed by the system that allows administrators to receive alerts on their smartphones and quickly address issues with the solar panels.”
